That's "old light" when you pay attention to what ToMo3 says. And I think it's getting much easier for dubs to not pay attention to things they don't really care to hear from WT. I really think that we exJWs have paid much closer attention to the JW broadcraps than the sheeple do. I think my parents usually fall asleep when they try to watch those snoozefests.

As much as WT loves the OT, they should realize that counting things is evil, consequently thousands of innocent people should die for WT's yearbook census reports... well, lets be obvious and state that all the millions of sheeple now living will die eventually. -

So what does that mean? It's 99.9% corrupted, but that's okay?
This from the men who brought you the illustration: If you were offered a glass of water and you were promised that there was only a little poison in it, would you drink it?
So the sheeple are expected to donate money to an organization that has no transparency of exactly how and where the finances go, there is no auditing, and the only consolation is that the organization as a whole isn't completely corrupt? Then this organization would condemn a group of children celebrating a birthday because there were 2 birthday parties centuries ago that they would consider "corrupt" examples?

lately i've been very busy balancing between my school work and cult activities.
since i've been doing pretty well "spiritually"(enough field-circus hours, attending meetings, underlining my literatrash, reading, praying and serving as the mic-master) my coordinator grabbed me to the side after a meeting and talked to me for twenty minutes straight congratulating me about how good i am doing.. then he paused for a good five seconds and got all serious.. then he proceeded to tell me that the young ones in the hall aren't doing too well.

Yeah, that's some crazy pressure to put on a kid, like you're "a pillar" who's somehow supposed to help fix things for the elduhs. Where was Jehovah in preventing these bad things from happening? Was he snoozing or in the privy? Were all the angels too busy flying around JW litteratrash trolleys to come and help the "youthz" in your congregation stay on the straight and narrow?
If you're looking to fade, this situation gives you some useful facts:
- When I was a kid and bad stuff like that happened in a hall, the rumor was "they've mourned Jehovah's spirit" or "Jehovah's spirit isn't with that congregation". There is no guarantee in the JWs that your congregation will be a "spiritual paradise". And the local KH can become an embarrassment in the community when "worldly people" find out that there are bad JWs.
- Just because someone is a JW, it doesn't mean they are a good person and should be trusted. Actually, I used to be surprised and disappointed at how dramas and experiences would have other JW kids as the troublemaker villains leading the protagonists away from da troof. I really felt there was a huge mistrust and suspicion of kids at the hall that weren't all 100% goody-goody. So, any less than exemplary kids at the hall can easily be labeled "bad association." Ironically, there were a lot of those "exemplary kids" at the hall that were found out to be living "double lives". So really, the exemplary kids at the hall are also possibly "bad association." Talk about a network of suspicion.

That was one of the details I exploited for my fade. When I was removed as an elder, the BoE told me that there were certain accusations against me and that I'd stumbled others. Yet when I asked who they were and why they hadn't applied the scriptures and come and spoken to me, I didn't get an answer because they were lying. They're the type of elders that are driven my their own self-importance and ignorance.
The idea of making this a huge deal in our family and a fade may work out well.
In reference to that broadcast, I made it clear to my parents that as a university graduate, I found the things stated to be very negatively biased. I'm making significantly more money, but it isn't just the money. I'm much more intelligent, but I don't think it's made me "proud" or any different. And one of the big things is that my degree won't be taken away from me. It will always have value. I'll be an alumni the rest of my life. In stark contrast, I spent many more years as a pioneer, bethelite, and elder, yet the value of all of that disappeared the moment I left bethel and when I was removed as an elder.
So when the WT broadcast crows about the supposed value of pioneering and the wastefulness of attending university, it's something I can't agree with. Is this really what JWs believe, that university degrees are meaningless waste? Then the next time they get seriously ill or are in an accident... call a pioneer instead of going to see a doctor! Instead of driving around in a car designed by engineers, have the morning group for field service build one for you! And in that broadcast, if the GB are now saying that bethel wouldn't send anyone to university for a law degree, why are they still using university trained brothers and sisters in the legal department? Why have they sent out letters trying to recruit degreed JWs? Can't they just select any pioneer, send them to court to defend WT lawsuits? Or does the GB rely on degrees more than they rely on jehovah?

Aw shoot, I just realized that these pornography calendars feature naked pictures. Sigh, well, I better reset the counter to zero days since last viewing porn... well, as long as I'm looking, I may as well make it count! [Brother leaves stage]

What I Learned Today

It started quite good, with a lots of talk about personal freedom in matters that are not specifically described in the Bible. Such as eating meat sacrificed to idols in Korinthians.
In actuality, that raises two HUGE problems for JW theology.
1) In 1 Cor. 10:25-30, this was Paul writing in 55CE saying that eating meat sacrificed to idols was a conscience matter... so "personal freedom", eh? But it was just a few years earlier in 49CE that the governing body decided in Acts 15 "to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols". So, in a very short time, something that was forbidden, to "keep abstaining from", had become a matter of personal choice. That means that what the governing body says today...
the speaker came to the subject of always obeying the faithful and discreet slave. Specially on the matter of higher education
...they may say that today, but it will become a matter of personal opinion. And remember, of course, that after the governing body decided that circumcision was no longer required, the very next event mentioned in Acts 16 was Paul circumcising Timothy. If anything, decisions by the governing body are something to be quickly discarded.
2) Of course, their acknowledging the validity of Paul's reducing the eating of food sacrificed to idols from being forbidden to being a personal choice would also reduce the validity of the command to "abstain" from blood. Once that phrase is discarded, the JW beliefs would roll back to what was stated after Noah left the ark (yeah, like that story ever really happened, LOL). There it was clearly explained that the blood was to be drained from a slaughtered animal you were going to eat. Since blood transfusions come from living donors and not dead animals, the WT prohibition of blood transfusions is trashed... Of course, WT has already trashed it with their bizarre "blood fractions" policy.

it wasn't long before we were talking about marriage and i was contemplating buying her an engagement ring.
my parents were not happy at all.

It factors down to putting organizational loyalty before any personal relationship in all such "marriage advice". Personal qualities that one would look for in genuine, loving relationships are steamrolled in favor of qualifications important to WT Corp. Which is more important for a woman: a man who is financially responsible and lovingly cares for his widowed mother and younger siblings, or a man who spends more money than he makes (because this system is soon to perish anyway) and wastes hours every month standing next to a WT litteratrash trolley and tells his family to "rely on Jehovah"?
Additional advice from WTland:
- When a new class of gilead would begin, there would be a Monday night program after the "family" botchtower study where each student/couple would give a brief introduction. There were lots of couples where they made it a point to mention that both of them wanting to go through gilead was pivotal to their establishing any relationship. There were some couples that established this in their first conversations upon meeting... and they were engaged and married just weeks later. These stories brought gasps from us bethelites. Personally, I was horrified because I had plenty of bethel roommates that I just didn't really like. Both of us having the similar desire to slave in bethel was no grounds for even a friendship. That was certainly one of the things that prevented me from getting married. If her desire to get into bethel or marry a bethelite was her strongest motivation to marry me, that could easily turn bad.
- I also remember in bethel when Losch had morning worship comments and "explained" how bethel brothers shouldn't get involved with sisters that weren't spiritual enough. He said that it might hurt to break up with someone you really think you love, but there are plenty of other spiritually qualified sisters out there that you can fall in love with just the same. He further added how there were brothers in bethel who lost their beloved wives in death but they went on to find new wives and came to love them just the same as their dead wives. This comment caused a stir for a while with all the wives as they imagined their husbands briefly mourning their death... but picking out their next wives at her funeral.
- On the other hand, I heard the story of a young bethelite asking Carey Barber about how to know whether a sister was "the right one." He responded, "Well, take her to the beach and see what you've got!" Yes, I could imagine him saying that.
